I Can't Image how many people will be lined up at BestBuy/Fry's for the XBox 360 when it is born to earth on Nov. 22nd...Just a few days before the Thanksgiving - peferct as a memorable gift!
I didn't Microsoft actually created a dedicated a website just for XBox 360's H/W. It's also important to point out of that the game console has more horsepower than any desktop I ever played/used:
3.2Ghz CPU with 1Mb of L2 cache, 512MB of 700MHz GDDR3 RAM, 500M Triangles/Sec. Wi-Fi/Ethernet supports, over 256 audio channels...You name it! More importantly, at least one of the which_one_is_the_next_generation_DVD is finally moving out. Microsoft teamworked with Toshiba to support HD-DVD for their next gen. game console.
I heard MSFT would charge $350 for this package, with optional 40GB HDD. I bet if any one can heck this thing and convert it to a desktop, the PC shipments in the states and Japan will drop dramatically. There is no way one can buy a equivallent equipment desktop at this price, and I don't really believe MSFT makes any penny out of the box...Oh well, do they really make lots of profit on the games? Not on today's Xbox.
Nevertheless, it still show Bill's efforts as Microsoft is definitely moving full-throttle in this market. I can't wait to see the next gen. of PS3, and Ican't wait to see how MSFT will wrestle Sony!
