Canada geese brought Flight 1549 down

Here is a CNN headline "Canada geese brought Flight 1549 down, NTSB says"

I thought it was both funny and absurd to blame "Canadian" geese as the culprits of Flight 1549's accident, as of Canadian are all terrorists that bring trouble to the American people.

I'm sure pandas' passports would say "China" as their nationality, but how do people actually define the "nationality" of geese?  They travel between north and south all year round, and they cross the border without any documentations!

It reads to me like "don't worry people, our CIA and FBI agents are doing a great job of keeping our country free of terrorists.  Bad guys are either from Canada or somewhere else, even the birds!"
